- Clinical Plausibility
- The degree to which a model's assumptions, structure, and results align with established clinical knowledge and expert judgement about the disease studied.

- Model Selection
- The process of choosing among alternative model structures or specifications for an evaluation, guided by fit, clinical plausibility, and parsimony.

- Trace Validation
- The review of a Markov model's cohort trace, the proportion of a modelled population in each health state over time, for clinical plausibility.
