Health Economics Learning Ontology (HELO)

The Health Economics Learning Ontology (HELO) describes the learning pathways of HealthEconomics.wiki, which are ordered steps that build understanding of health economics concepts from foundational to advanced. It records pathway frameworks, intended learners, learning goals and proposed prerequisite relationships between concepts, and gives courses a shared structure of curricula and modules. Learning pathways build understanding and prepare learners for the work described in the Health Economics Task Ontology (HETO).

This HELO is unrelated to the older HypothEsis and Law Ontology, which also uses the acronym HELO.

BioPortal is the main public library of biomedical ontologies, run by the National Center for Biomedical Ontology at Stanford University. Publishing there means the ontology is held and versioned outside this site, so researchers, data services and software can find it, browse its terms, download it and link their own work to it.
