Real Health Economics Ontology (RHEO)

The Real Health Economics Ontology (RHEO) describes the real things that health economics works with, such as patients, households, care settings, resources, payments and costs, and the records made about them. It also describes the evidence built from these records, from estimates and assumptions to model parameters and results, so that a model result can be traced back to its sources. RHEO is written in the Web Ontology Language (OWL) and is aligned to the Basic Formal Ontology (BFO) 2020. Its relationships to the concepts of the Health Economics Ontology (HEO) are published as a separate mapping file. This is an alpha release for review, and terms may still change before version 1.0.

BioPortal is the main public library of biomedical ontologies, run by the National Center for Biomedical Ontology at Stanford University. Publishing there means the ontology is held and versioned outside this site, so researchers, data services and software can find it, browse its terms, download it and link their own work to it.
