Health Economics Ontology (HEO)

The Health Economics Ontology (HEO) is a vocabulary of health economics concepts taken from HealthEconomics.wiki, each with a permanent web address, a name and a definition. It is written in the Simple Knowledge Organization System (SKOS) and the Web Ontology Language (OWL), with typed relationships between concepts such as part of, measures and used to calculate. Concepts sit under one top concept, Health Economics, and the subdomains of the wiki. HEO describes meanings, not real things, and its companion the Real Health Economics Ontology (RHEO) describes the real world.

BioPortal is the main public library of biomedical ontologies, run by the National Center for Biomedical Ontology at Stanford University. Publishing there means the ontology is held and versioned outside this site, so researchers, data services and software can find it, browse its terms, download it and link their own work to it.
