Partitioned survival models
A partitioned survival model takes the share of patients in each health state directly from survival curves, usually overall and progression-free survival, without modelling transitions between states. It is common in cancer appraisals. The area under curve approach gives the time spent in each state, to which costs and utilities are applied.
Concepts in this topic
- Area Under Curve ApproachA survival extrapolation method fitting a parametric distribution to observed data and calculating the area under the resulting curve to estimate mean survival.
- Partitioned Survival ModelA partitioned survival model is a cancer economic model that uses PFS and OS curves to split a cohort into progression-free, progressed and dead states.
